The use of arts in advertising, besides being tax-deductible, is very inexpensive when compared to commercial advertising. The image that is projected is one that is sophisticated, intelligent, and altruistic. However, the arts, usually, fail to get long-term commitments from businesses. Most companies see their support of the arts as temporary and do not wish to subsidize them as they would a hospital or a children's home. Hospitals, since they require longer commitments, usually get most of their support from private foundations.
